Types and Features of Corrosion-resistant Steel Pipe

Product name Features
Carbon Steel Pipe for Plumbing (“White Tube”) This steel pipe, which is galvanized both inside and outside, offers outstanding workability.
Galvanized Steel Pipe for Water Piping (SGPW) This steel pipe, which is thickly galvanized both inside and outside, offers outstanding workability.
PFP (Polyethylene-Lined Steel Pipe for Water Supplies) This corrosion-resistant steel pipe for water supplies is coated on the inside with powdered polyethylene (PE). It boasts excellent quality, hygiene, and corrosion-resistance. It can be used for thread rolling.
JLP (PVC-Lined Steel Pipe for Water Supplies) This corrosion-resistant steel pipe for water supplies is made by lining the inside of steel pipe with PVC pipe using a bonding agent. It is ideal for applications that require a high level of corrosion protection.
JDLP (PVC-Lined Steel Pipe for Building Wastewater Services) This is lightweight steel pipe lined with PVC to address the need for more flexible and lighter structures as a result of the diversification of wastewater services and the increasing height of high-rise buildings. These products are compatible with WSP-042 (PVC-Lined Steel Pipe for Wastewater).
PLP-P2S (Polyethylene-Coated Steel Pipe) The outside of this corrosion-resistant steel pipe for underground piping is seamlessly coated with polyethylene resin by extrusion, to achieve a high degree of corrosion-resistance. Compatible with JIS G 3469 P2S.
PLP-P1H (Single-Layer Bonded Polyethylene-Coated Steel Pipe) This single-layer bonded polyethylene-coated steel pipe is made by strongly bonding a polyethylene coating onto steel pipe. It is suitable for laying underground and is compatible with JIS G 3469 P1H.
PLS (Small-Diameter Single-Layer Bonded Polyethylene-Coated Steel Pipe) This small-diameter single-layer bonded polyethylene-coated steel pipe retains the corrosion-resistance of PLP and can be used with its coating for thread cutting and thread rolling. Compatible with JIS G 3469 P1H.
PLV (PVC-Coated Steel Pipe) This is an integrally molded product made by strongly bonding PVC to steel pipe. It can be used for cutting and thread cutting without the coating peeling off and is also suitable for thread rolling. The use of highly weather-resistant PVC enables use for both underground and exposed piping.
Fire-Fighting Pipe VS (Exterior PVC-Coated Steel Pipe for Fire Fighting) Fire-Fighting Pipe VS conforms to WSP-041 (Exterior PVC-Coated Steel Pipe for Fire Fighting). It is used for buried fire-fighting water pipe and interconnected water piping.

Main features and applications
1)This is galvanized steel pipe made by zin-coating SGP (carbon steel pipe for ordinary piping). 2)The quantity of zinc deposited, which is higher than that of SGP “white tube,” has an average value of at least 600 g/m2 and a minimum value of 550 g/m2. 3)Used for a wide range of other non-water supply piping applications, including air conditioning, fire fighting, wastewater, and industrial water.

Main features and applications
1)This is steel pipe coated on the inside by the fusion of polyethylene powder.This is steel pipe coated on the inside by the fusion of polyethylene powder. 2)Used for water supply piping (including chilled water piping) at temperatures up to 40°C. Not recommended for wastewater. 3)Available in three grades according to the degree of corrosion-resistance of the pipe exterior: PA (primer of rustproof paint), PB (zinc coating), and PD (single-layer PE coating). Generally, PA is used for indoor applications, PB for indoor and outdoor applications, and PD for buried piping. 4)Can be used for rolled thread with excellent earthquake-resistance. 5)Coating thickness is approximately 0.5 mm, resulting in a larger cross-sectional area than other kinds of lined steel pipe, and therefore less pressure drop. 6)Excellent cold resistance. 7)Excellent recyclability (without the need for separated waste collection)

1)This steel pipe is made by bonding a PVC lining to the inside of steel pipe. 2)Used for its excellent corrosion-resistance for water supply piping in the temperature range -5 to 40°C. 3)Available in three grades, according to the degree of corrosion-resistance of the pipe exterior: VA (primer of rustproof paint), VB (zinc coating for water piping), VD (PVC). Generally, VA is used for indoor applications, VB for indoor and outdoor applications, and VD for buried piping.

1)This steel pipe is made by bonding a PVC lining to the inside of steel pipe. 2)Used for wastewater piping at temperatures up to 60°C. 3)Pipe thickness is low, so weighs 30% to 50% less than SGP pipe. 4)For joining, use flexible couplings for wastewater piping (e.g., MD couplings).

Main features and applications
1)This steel pipe is made by covering the exterior of steel pipe with one or two layers of high-density polyethylene. 2)The 2-layer type is made by applying two layers of PE-a rustproofing layer and a packing layer-over an adhesive. 3)The 1-layer type is made by applying PE thickly as a rustproofing layer over an adhesive. 4)Operating temperature range: -40 to 50°C.

1)This is small-diameter version of the PLP 1-layer type, sold under the trade name “PLS.” 2)Can be used for thread cutting without the layer peeling off. Can also be used for thread rolling. Main features and applications
1)This steel pipe is made by applying a PVC coating to the exterior of SGP “white tube.” The coating is a khaki color. 2)There is also pipe made by applying a PVC coating to the exterior of STPG370 and STPG410 “white tube.” 3)The coating is a hard (VS) type of PVC. 4)This pipe is used mainly for buried fire hydrant piping, but it can also be used for exposed piping in outdoor environments.
