High Strength/Machine Parts - Cr fully alloyed steel powders

Materials for high strength/ wear resistant parts, including Cr type, Ni type, and other composition systems. Fully alloyed steel powder is used with the Cr type and other composition systems; partially alloyed steel powder is used with the Ni type.

Cr fully alloyed steel powders

Cr-Mo steel powders with low contents of oxygen, carbon, and nitrogen produced by the vacuum reduction process. Have high compressibility and are suitable for high strength wear-resistant parts. Three types are available, by Cr content.

JIP 4100V 1%Cr-0.8%Mn-0.3%Mo AISI 4100-equivalent composition.
JIP 20CRV 2%Cr-0.8%Mn-0.2%Mo-0.2%S Includes S for improved machinability.
JIP 30CRV 3%Cr-0.3%Mo-0.3%V High hardness in as-sintered condition.

  Characteristics of Cr alloyed steel powder “JIP 4100V, KIP 30CRV”

(1) Being produced by the Kawasaki-developed vacuum reduction process, JIP 4100V and JIP 30CRV are the steel powders with less oxygen, less carbon and less nitrogen contents in spite that they contain Cr, and thus offer high compressibility.
(2) Nitrogen, hydrogen and vacuum atmosphere is suitable for sintering.
(3) They are most idealistic for high strength, wear resistant parts.
(4) JIP 30CRV is suitable for heat and wear resistant parts, and the sintered products exhibit excellent characteristice (high hardness, high tensile strength) in the as-sintered condition.

Compacting pressure : 686MPa
Sintering temp. and time : 1250°C × 60min. in AX
Quenching : 4100V : 810°C × 30min. O. Q.
    30CRV : 850–900°C × 30min. O. Q.
Tempering : 4100V : 170°C × 90min. A. C.
    30CRV : 170°C × 60min. A. C.
