A new base for EVI* activities in the automotive field

The Customer Solution Lab (CSL) is a combination exhibition/experiment research building which JFE Steel opened for the purpose of promoting joint research through the unified efforts of researchers of the JFE Steel Laboratory and customers.

The CSL consist of the following areas:

1. 1.Exhibition area for the most recent technologies in the fields of advanced materials and use & processing technologies
2. 2.Work area for investigation of auto body structure, material composition, etc.
3. 3.Experiment area equipped with various types of welding machines, steel sheet evaluation equipment, etc.
4. 4.Meeting area for “Co-Creation” with customers This facility expanded JFE Steel’s contribution to customers·next-generation automobile development at a high level unprecedented in the past.

*EVI Activities:Activities in which JFE Steel participates in new automobile development from the earliest stage and proposes/develops methods of using steel materials, processing component parts, evaluating performance, etc. in line with the concept of the new automobile.
