JFE G-CORE JFE N-CORE Super Core

Products

Manufacturing process of Super Core™

Normally, up to 3.5% of silicon is added to silicon steel sheets. It was known from long ago that increasing the silicon content will improve the magnetic properties of steels, and that the highest magnetic properties are reached at 6.5% silicon content. However, it was considered that the highest magnetic properties cannot be achieved in steel sheet shape. JFE Steel has developed a siliconizing technology to infiltrate silicon from the steel sheet surface. This has made us able to produce a 6.5%-silicon steel sheet for the first time in the world.

Properties of Super Core™

Super Core™ is ideal for achieving low noise, low core loss, high efficiency, and size reduction for high-frequency electrical equipment.

Appropriate power supply and frequency for Super Core™

Diagram below indicates the power supply and the switching frequency (ripple frequency) that are suitable for Super Core . As the data shows, Super Core™ is suitable for medium-capacity inverter and converter reactors of 3 kHz to 40kHz, 1 kVA or 10A or higher. Particularly with this power supply, Super Core effectively brings such benefits as high efficiency, compact size, and low noise. The figure below illustrates the application fields of Super Core™ based on the power supply and driving frequency of inverters, converters, and other equipment.

Processing of Super Core™

Unlike amorphous or iron powder, Super Core™ can support secondary processing for a wide range of sizes and shapes by using conventional processing equipment for electrical steel sheets.
