JFE Steel Corporation

JGreeX®
JFE to sell JGreeX to steel pipe and tube trading companies

JFE Steel Corporation announced today that it will sell its JGreeX green steel to JFE Shoji Pipe & Fitting Corporation (JKK), a steel pipe and tube trading company in the JFE Shoji group. This will be the first time that a Japanese steel distributor will sell JGreeX in the steel pipe sector. Selling the product through JKK will enable JFE Steel to establish a sales system to handle small-lot shipments and quick deliveries, and to market and supply JGreeX to a wide range of customers.

JFE Steel uses the mass-balance approach to allocate emission reductions to specific JGreeX green-steel products to help determine their environmental value.

Efforts to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across entire supply chains are increasingly including initiatives targeting steel pipes, such as building equipment and plants. In the building sector, JGreeX offers many environmental benefits for initiatives designed to reduce GHG emissions throughout the lifecycle of buildings, from construction to maintenance and management.

Going forward, JFE Steel will continue to contribute to the decarbonization of supply chains by supplying its JGreeX green steel materials.
