JFE Steel and Deloitte Tohmatsu Cyber Establish Cybersecurity Company

JFE Steel Corporation announced today that together with Deloitte Tohmatsu Cyber LLC (DTCY) it has established, effective immediately, a cybersecurity joint company named JFE Cyber Security & Solutions, LTD. in which JFE Steel is expected to hold 90% and DTCY 10% (pending forthcoming share transfer).

Over many years, the JFE Group has accumulated a wide range of information assets, including technologies, know-how and data, which it is now combining with advanced technologies such as AI, IoT and data science to create new value. However, given the increasing importance of information assets, the JFE Group is placing greater emphasis on security measures needed to combat potential cyberattacks and other such risks.

To address such issues, the new company will use DTCY’s cutting-edge security services and expertise in human resources development to acquire and develop security personnel and improve security monitoring and other systems within the JFE Group, and also to strengthen security throughout the Group's supply chain comprising approximately 300 companies.

JFE Steel is pursuing digital transformation (DX) strategies to develop solutions for key issues facing modern society. Going forward, the company plans to develop products, systems and services supported by robust security measures to advance DX initiatives aimed at realizing a more sustainable world.
