JFE Steel Corporation Receives ISO 45001 Certification
for West Japan Works (Fukuyama Area)
JFE Steel Corporation today announced that its West Japan Works (Fukuyama Area) has acquired ISO 45001 (JIS Q 45001) certification under this international standard for occupational health and safety management systems.1 This is the company’s second business site to receive such certification.
Based on the core principle that "safety takes precedence over everything else," all staff employed at our steel mills and manufacturing plants are working together to create safe and healthy workplaces. In order to further promote autonomous and systematic occupational health and safety management throughout the organization, we have established occupational health and safety management processes that comply with the international standard ISO 45001.
JFE Steel will continue to make efforts to create safer and healthier workplaces by sequentially acquiring this certification at all of our business sites and by continuously and effectively implementing compliant occupational health and safety management processes.
1 Published in March 2018 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It is a framework for a series of voluntary activities that systematically and continuously implement the following: a declaration of health and safety policies by the operator’s senior management; investigation of hazards or harmfulness with measures taken based on the results; setting of health and safety targets; and preparation, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of health and safety plans.
