Super-OLAC

In 1978, JFE Steel began on-line accelerated cooling (OLAC) at a plate mill for the first time in the world. This was the beginning of so-called accelerated cooling-type TMCP in plate manufacturing. Because this process improves the strength and weldability of plate products without heat treatment, it was introduced at plate mills around the world and is now an indispensable plate manufacturing technology.

In 2001, as a result of tireless development efforts and its accumulated technologies as a pioneer in this field, JFE Steel developed Super-OLAC, which dramatically expands the capabilities of conventional cooling technology.
