The Kurashiki Area of the West Japan Works has the good fortune of being located in the Setouchi Area. This area has a mild climate and faces the Seto Inland Sea, which is rich in water resources and is called a "natural canal," and it also has deep harbors. The site area is about 11,000,000 m2, about 250 times that of the Tokyo Dome. Steel bars and wire rods are produced mainly in the Kurashiki Area.
