Ultra Low C-Nb-2.5% Ni Steel for LPG Storage Tanks

要旨 :
2.5% Ni鋼の母材特性および溶接部靭性に及ぼす,C量(0.005〜0.05%)とNb添加の影響を調べた。その結果,Nb鋼の焼ならし材では,C量を0.05%から0.01%まで低減しても強度は低下せず,また,0.01% C-Nb鋼の焼ならし材は,母材および溶接部ともに極めてすぐれた靭性を有することがわかった。この知見に基づき,0.01% C-Nb-2.5% Ni鋼を工場で試作し,各種試験を実施した。得られた主な結果を,以下に示す。(1)焼ならし材の脆性き裂伝ぱ停止靭性Kcaは,−46℃で約1600kgf・√mm/mm2であった。(2)MIG溶接およびサブマージアーク溶接継手部のシャルピー吸収エネルギーは,−60℃で14 kgf・m以上であった。
Synopsis :
The effects of C content of less than 0.05% and Nb addition on the mechanical properties of the 2.5% Ni steel plate and the toughness of its welded joints were studied. The laboratory test indicated that the reduction in C content from 0.05% to 0.01% did not lower the strength of the normalized Nb bearing steel, and improved the toughness of the welded joints as well as the base metal. On the basis of the laboratory test results, a 0.01% C-Nb-2.5% Ni steel was produced on the factory scale to be studied further. The ESSO test indicated that the crack arrest toughness Kca of the 25 mm thick normalized plate was as high 1600 kgf・√mm/mm2 at −46℃. The heat affected zone of the MIG welding joint of this plate gave a Charpy impact energy and a COD value of more than 25 kgf・m and 1 mm, respectively, at temperatures above −60℃. The heat affected zone of the submerged arc welding joint gave a Charpy impact energy of more than 14 kgf・m at temperatures above −60℃.
