| Synopsis: Kawasaki Steel has careers of more than 40 years in stainless steel flat rolled products. History of the company in terms of production facilities and developments of stainless steel is described. Features of the latest facilities are also described. Significant points are steelmaking process of Cr-ore smelting reduction with combined blowing converter, powerful hot rolling mill, highly efficient cold rolling with cluster and tandem rolling mills. Using these facilities, Kawasaki Steel produces many characteristic stainless steels, especially of super ferritic grades. Corrosion resistance, press formability, oxidation resistance and other performances of developed steels, named "River Lite" series, are explained briefly. |
