All-round Engineering by Kawasaki Steel Corporation - The Island and Town Construction as Starting Points

Synopsis :
Technically, the starting point for Kawasaki Steel Corporation's engineering activities was the construction of the company's steelworks. However, Kawasaki Steel has successfully expanded its business in this area from the sale of steel plant equipment and related steel structures into an all-round engineering capability in response to social requirements. In recent years, for example, Kawasaki Steel has put considerable effort into environmental engineering, including the disposal and recycling of urban waste, and in cooperation with the steelmaking division has developed distinctive business in such diverse fields as plant construction, civil engineering, pipelines, architectural construction, and construction materials. This report describes the technical trends and future prospects of Kawasaki Steel's Engineering & Construction Division in each of these areas.
