Synopsis : The control system of the cargo berth and automated warehouse covers from bringing-in of products by trailers to ship-loading by gantry crane, and deals with all the products of the Steel Works. In this system the automation of warehouse is an important factor and all storage and issuing operations at the automated warehouse are carried out by a number of workers only one third that of the conventional warehouse. For prompt cargo work, two products will be carried into the warehouse at the same time, and for smooth working of each cargo machinery, the authors are determining the placement and taking-out of products, and working order. We also developed a system to support the stowage plan using the technique, knowledge, engineering and CAD. This enables us to make stowage plans which need knowledge and experience, for easier and more accurate warehouse operation. This system is working smoothly since April 1986. |
